Ayer martes 19 de julio, Sharon participó en el programa televisivo Daybreak presentado por Dan Lobb y Christine Bleakley en ITV1 desde las 06:00h, donde habló de su carrera en solitario y de su nuevo single, Over It.

Hoy, el equipo de Sharon ha actualizado su página de Facebook donde han dado a conocer que Sharon participará en el festival Electric Picnic 2011, que tendrá lugar entre los dí­as 2, 3 y 4 de septiembre en la ciudad de Stradbally, Irlanda. La actuación de Sharon será el dí­a 2 a las 18:00h (19:00h horario peninsular).

Esta mañana, Sharon ha estado en el programa radiofónico The Mark Goodier Show donde ha hablado de su carrera en solitario y que ya está trabajando en su segundo álbum de estudio que saldrá a la venta previsiblemente el año que viene.

Hoy, la página web Charts In France ha desvelado en un artí­culo que la versión internacional de Bretonne verá la luz el próximo dí­a 14 de noviembre. El álbum contendrá la canción Amazing Grace, que grabó con Sharon; así­ como tambiíén Tinseltown In The Rain, que grabó con Andrea, aunque al parecer esta última solo estará disponible a travíés de iTunes

Nolwenn Leroy : "Bretonne 2.0" le 14 novembre

Selon les propos de Nolwenn Leroy recueillis par le magazine "Tíélíé 7 jours", la ríéíédition du dernier album de Nolwenn Leroy, "Bretonne", trouvera sa place chez les disquaires quelques semaines avant les fíªtes de fin d'anníée, le 14 novembre, soit presque un an aprí¨s la mise en rayon de sa premií¨re mouture. Plusieurs titres iníédits seront intíégríés í  cette version proposíée í  l'international.

Voilí  plusieurs mois que l'on parle de la ríéíédition de l'album "Bretonne" de Nolwenn Leroy sans jamais la voir paraí®tre. Fort du succí¨s qu'il rencontre, ce quatrií¨me opus de Nolwenn connait un trí¨s grand succí¨s dans les charts, s'íétant íécoulíé í  500 000 exemplaires en un peu plus de sept mois. Un excellent score pour celle qui avait síéduit tout juste 50 000 míélomanes avec le príécíédent "Le Cheshire Cat & moi" ; une jolie revanche pour celle qui l'on disait "terminíée" alors qu'elle laní§ait "Bretonne" au mois de díécembre 2010.

Afin de se maintenir dans le peloton de tíªte des ventes, Nolwenn Leroy proposera une nouvelle version de "Bretonne" pour l'international, avec sans aucun doute les titres qui ont forgíé son succí¨s, "Tri martolod", "La jument de Michao" et "Brest", mais aussi agríémentíée de quelques titres díéjí  interpríétíés sur scí¨ne pendant sa tourníée d'íétíé. Il semble que huit iníédits feraient leur apparition, dont la cíélí¨bre chanson traditionnelle irlandaise "Whiskey in the jar", le trí¨s chríétien "Amazing Grace", et "Dirty Old Town", une chanson íécrite par Ewan MacColl et díéjí  reprise par Nolwenn et Catherine Ringer sur le plateau de "Taratata" le mois dernier. On espí¨re retrouver la reprise "Sunday Bloody Sunday" de U2, uniquement disponible sur iTunes, et le duo "Tinseltown In The Rain" que la bretonne avait chantíé sur le míªme plateau de tíélíévision avec Andrea Corr.

Nolwenn Leroy s'est fait connaí®tre grí¢ce au tremplin "Star Academy" qu'elle remporta en 2002. Dans la foulíée, elle enregistre un premier album íéponyme qui contient notamment le tube "Cassíé". Ont contribuíé í  la ríéussite de ce disque rapidement devenu n°1 du Top Pascal Obispo, Lara Fabian, Laurent Voulzy, Lionel Florence et Daniel Lavoie. 600 000 exemplaires ont trouvíé preneur grí¢ce í  l'exploitation de quatre singles dont "Une femme cachíée", "Suivre une íétoile" et "Iníévitablement", et une voix puissante qui charme le public. Elle poursuit l'aventure avec Laurent Voulzy qui lui ríéalise l'album "Histoires naturelles", dans les bacs en 2005. Lí  encore, le succí¨s est au rendez-vous et l'artiste installe un univers onirique qui ne la quittera plus. Alain Souchon s'associe í  Laurent Voulzy pour íécrire "Nolwenn Ohwo !", Top Singles 1, un titre qui propulse l'album sur la troisií¨me marche du podium. La ballade "Mon ange" devient par ailleurs l'une de ses chansons les plus populaires. Aprí¨s une grande tourníée gravíée sur CD et DVD, Nolwenn se lance dans un projet plus personnel avec "Le Cheshire Cat & moi" (2009).

El próximo domingo 31 de julio, Sharon actuará en las celebraciones del antiguo Lúghnasa Festival, que tendrán lugar en Craggaunowen -Condado de Clare, Irlanda-. Dichas celebraciones se emitirán a travíés del canal RTí‰ One a las 21:30h (22:30h horario peninsular). Lúghnasa celebrations at Craggaunowen

RTí‰ will broadcast live from Quin’s Craggaunowen this Sunday in celebration of the ancient festival of Lúghnasa.

The live broadcast kicks off at 9.30pm on RTí‰ One and will be followed by a screening of Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa.

The show will be a combination of chat, music and food where well-known celebrities will celebrate the ancient festival of Lúghnasa and reconnect the audience with what was traditionally one of the most important dates in the Irish calendar.

The live show will be broadcast from a very evocative location, Craggaunowen, an Iron Age fort, in front of an audience of 200. The award-winning pre-historic park is owned and operated by Shannon Heritage and is situated on 50 acres of wooded grounds in Quin.

Gráinne Seioge will be speaking with guests John Creedon, Mary McEvoy, Siníéad Kennedy, Colm Hayes and Paul Flynn and will explore different aspects of Lúghnasa folklore. Chef Paul Flynn will give a cooking demonstration of food from that period, while Moya Brennan and Sharon Corr will perform live music.

“RTí‰ is excited to be bringing our audience this lively show full of chat and fun in celebration of Lúghnasa, which marks an important new chapter in the recognition of our magnificent heritage. The location of Craggaunowen has huge historical significance and RTí‰ are looking forward to bringing its viewers a night to remember,” Colm Crowley, head of production for RTí‰ Cork said.

Meanwhile, John Ruddle CEO of Shannon Heritage, the Shannon Development subsidiary said, “We are delighted that RTí‰ has chosen to make Craggaunowen the focus of their Lúghnasa celebrations. The Lúghnasa theme is a perfect fit with our visitor attraction, which gives viewers a unique glimpse into living conditions in Ireland during the pre-historic and early Christian eras, showing them the type of farmsteads, hunting sites and other features of everyday life. One of the major features of a visit to Craggaunowen is the crannóg, a reconstructed lake-dwelling, on which people built houses, kept animals and lived in relative security. Craggaunowen also features a ring fort, part of an Iron Age road or Togher, which was originally laid in 148AD and the Brendan Boat used by Tim Severin to re-enact the voyage of St Brendan the Navigator, reputed to have discovered America centuries before Columbus.”

Lúghnasa marks the beginning of autumn and is among the four major Celtic feast days, the others being Imbolc on February 1, which marks spring; Bealtaine on May 1 marking the start of summer and Samhain on November 1 marking winter.

The name for the festival of Lúghnasa comes from the name of the god Lúgh and is also sometimes referred to as the feast of Lúgh.

The celebration marks the ripening of grain, specifically corn and also the weaning of calves and lambs and later in history, the festival included the maturing of potatoes.
It is celebrated on August 1 or else the first Sunday of August or the last Sunday of July. Lúghnasa was significant in pre-Christian times as it was a Celtic festival and part of the festivities included the lighting of fires and communal feasting

Hoy, Melkweg, situado en Amsterdam, ha anunciado en su página web que Sharon actuará en el local el próximo lunes 14 de noviembre. El concierto será sentado y el precio de las entradas es de 25€.

Vanavond staat Sharon Corr in de Melkweg met haar band. Sharon Corr scoorde wereldwijd hits als bandlid van de vooral in de jaren ’90 bekende groep The Corrs. Verwacht vanavond mooie sferische instrumentale muziek met vioolmelodieen die je aan de groene heuvels en uitgestrekte vlaktes in Ierland doen denken afgewisseld door fluweelzachte popliedjes. Het concert is seated.

Sharon Corr werd vooral bekend als violist, songwriter en ondersteunende zangeres van The Corrs. Hiermee werd ze met name in de jaren ’90 enorm succesvol wat onder meer resulteerde in de verkoop van 60 miljoen albums, wereldwijd uitverkochte stadionshows en vele nummer een hits.

Na 15 jaar The Corrs en een aantal jaar radiostilte rondom de band, besloot Sharon Corr alleen aan de slag te gaan. Haar eerste solo album werd vorig jaar uitgebracht met de titel ‘Dream Of you’. De muziek die Corr brengt zijn eigen geschreven nummers bestaande uit popliedjes met door haarzelf gezongen, zachte melodieí«n en instrumentale muziek voorzien van haar Iers georií«nteerde vioolspel.
