The day that many of us thought we would never see is finally here and Cranberries.com couldn't be happier to announce the news. Dolores O'Riordan and the original members of The Cranberries have announced that they will reform for the first time in nearly seven years for a live tour. "I've decided to reunite with my former band members in The Cranberries and we will be writing new songs and performing tracks off my new album as well as our greatest hits during the shows. I'd love to see you out there." O'Riordan stated. In January, O'Riordan played a set at Dublin's Trinity College with band members and brothers Noel and Mike Hogan to commemorate her being made an Honorary Patron of Trinity's Philosophical Society. The performance was the first time the band members had seen each other since 2003. Never officially broken up, the band instead has been on hiatus, and being in the same room and playing music together for the first time made them realize how much they had missed each other. Touring will begin at the end of the year in North America and make its way to Europe in early 2010 with dates announced shortly.Today also marks the release of Dolores O'Riordan's solo album, No Baggage, via zoe/rounder records in the US and Canada and Cooking Vinyl in the rest of the world. With No Baggage, O'Riordan's unforgettable, distinguished voice is back and better than ever. She co-produced and wrote all of the tracks on the album with Ontario-based Dan Brodbeck, resulting in a bright, clean sound that finds the singer's astoundingly emotive voice front and center, be it on the gorgeous piano ballad "Lunatic," the forthright, rocking track "Be Careful," or the infectious, driving lead single, "The Journey." "I probably haven't worn my heart on my sleeve like this since the second Cranberries album (1994's No Need To Argue)," she says. "It's at times very confessional and dealing with my true emotions. Everyone, through their experiences or their background, has had terrible moments where they think they can't handle it. With this record I'm trying to show that, no matter how bad things may seem, it's not really that bad in the big picture." says O'Riordan.Cranberries.com will be undergoing a revitalization to commemorate this exciting news. Good News Indeed...... Hey there, Yes....The Cranberries will be starting rehearsals in the middle of October. I can't wait to get back playing live again, it's always been the thing I enjoyed most about being in a band. We are planning to do some touring and write new songs along the way, maybe even test a few out on the road before we record them so it's going to be a very exciting time. I'll try to blog more when we start rehearsing, my apologies, I'm not really good at this and I lose track of time when I'm in the studio....the days zoom past. For the last week or so I've been doing final mixes on 'The Last Days of Death Country' Album. The band came out for a listening back session on friday and after a few tweaks we reached our goal! So, hope to send it off to masterlabs in Dublin next week and I'll post some tracks up here or you can head over to www.myspace.com/lastdaysofdeathcountry . They are such a great bunch of people and an incredibly melodic, powerful, dynamic band. They desrve to be hugely successful...so, my fingers are crossed for them. I've also been working on the 'Si' album and we will be getting stuck into those tracks next week. She has some fantastic songs and a huge collection of friends and family who play various instruments, so it's going to be another interesting and enjoyable experience. Well it's 2 am in rainy and stormy Ireland so I will bid you good night. Oiche mhait. Fergal.
NewsHi all. A busy few months ahead, I am back in the studio putting the final touches to the Supermodel Twins album. Then it’s on to co-mixing the Remma album later in the month. When both these projects are finished I will start rehearsal with The Cranberries before we play our first gigs in almost seven years, the first run of gigs will be in North America before the Christmas holidays.More dates to come soon.N.
This coming Monday we will be releasing the upcoming dates for the Cranberries tour. This first leg of the tour will concentrate on North America with more dates for the rest of the world to follow. We will have all the dates here next week
The Cranberries will begin rehearsals in a few weeks and I must admit, it still hasn't sunk in fully! It's been a long time since we've played together but I'm sure after the first few days it will all click into place and we will be fine. It's going to be great to play live again, it has always been one of my favourite parts of being in a band and we are mostly playing theatre's so the sound will be really clear. I'm sure will will have time at soundcheck to play around with some new material too, so that should be exciting indeed. You'd never know, we might even end up with a new song in the set....

Good evening, Myself, Noel and Mike began rehearsing yesterday and much to my surprise, it didn't sound too bad at all. It was funny, as if it has just been a few months, rather than years since we had played together. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere and we are getting through lots of songs. Dolores and Denny are due to arrive in the next week or so and we will sit down and 'brainstorm' some set-list ideas. We'll put some photo's up soon. Take care, Fergal.

been almost seven years since the Cranberries last hit the road. Last night, the Irish rockers officially ended their hiatus with a 90-minute sold-out show at Rams Head Live. The concert kicked off an international tour which stretches through late March. What have they been up to in the meantime? "I can't believe it's been six and a half years," said singer Dolores O'Riordan. "Babies were born. We had fun in the bedroom."Aha ...That's not all, though. O'Riordan recorded two solo albums, the most recent being "No Baggage," which came out in August. Last night's show was heavy on classic Cranberries material, but also included some of O'Riordan's solo work. The band emerged at 9 p.m. sharp, and started with "How" a mellow track from their debut album, "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" Early on, it was clear the concert would succeed or fail on the strength of the songs and O'Riordan's voice. The four other musicians in the band (guitar, bass, keyboard and drums) had a few miscues, and several songs ended up sounding flat. I'm sure the band will find their footing in the coming weeks. On the whole, the show was a fairly strong showing, especially considering how long it's been since the last time they toured. O'Riordan has lost none of her spunk. Dressed in a tight, sparkly black dress and black leggings, her dark hair cut short, O'Riordan cut a fierce and captivating figure. Her impressive range and vocal acrobatics were on full display, too. O'Riordan's singing can switch from gentle to savage in a heartbeat, and her warbling and cracking can be polarizing. The pace picked up with "Wanted," and shifted gears with "When You're Gone," an ambling, '50s inspired ballad. O'Riordan had the crowd in her corner all night. Fans sang and clapped along with her, and one audience member gave her a bouquet of flowers. The first encore, "No Baggage" featured just O'Riordan and the keyboardist, which showcased the softer side of O'Riordan's singing. The inevitable closer, "Dreams," suffered from some disappointing guitar work, but O'Riordan carried the song -- as she did most of the night.Welcome back, Cranberries.
